What Stores Double Coupons in Vermont/New Hampshire/New England?

The title of this post is the second most searched for subject that land people at my little home on the Net here at VTCouponer, so I figured I'd put a rundown of the stores I cover and their doubling:

Price Chopper - Policy was changed over the summer that ALL Price Chopper stores now double manufacturer coupons to $.99.  They do not double $1 coupons any longer.

Shaw's - They double up to $.99 here also, manufacturer coupons only.

Hannaford - Does not double any coupons.

Grand Union - I believe GU followed suit with PC and now all stores only double to $.99 and they don't double $1 at any store.  This is the only store that doesn't have a coupon policy posted, so always safest to check with your local store as policy seems to vary from store to store in this chain.

Kinney Drugs, Rite Aid, CVS, Walgreens, Walmart - None of these double coupons.

Hope that helps the folks searching for a store that doubles in Vermont and/or New England!  :)

PS - Quick explanation on "doubling to $.99":  There are two kinds of doubling, here in New England the stores seem to all do what is called a "true double", so a $.50 coupon is doubled to $1, a $.75 coupon is doubled to $1.50, a $.99 coupon (if you ever find one!  LOL) would be doubled to $1.98, but a $1 or higher value coupon is taken at face value, no extra.

Do You Swag? I do! :)

To go along with the previous post about the great deals you can find on things at Amazon.com, did you know you can get Amazon gift cards FREE with SwagBucks?  What's that?  You've never heard of Swagbucks?  Well, let me tell you, easiest way I've ever earned money!  LOL  I was very skeptical at first, they were going to basically pay me to search the internet?  Really?  But I knew many others doing it and giving great reviews, so I figured what the heck, I'd give it a shot.  I'll tell you that I plan to pay for almost all my Christmas shopping this year with... you guessed it... Swagbucks.

Swagbucks

Click that pic above and sign up to start saving for your whole Christmas next year!  What you do is use their search engine once in a while (it's basically just like Google or Yahoo or whatever search engine you already use), answer a poll, click through ads, find random codes they release, watch SwagTV, sign up for any offers that appeal to you, print and use coupons, oh jeez, there are a million things you can do to earn SwagBucks.  Then you can "buy" all kinds of things in the SwagStore, from watches to dog sweaters to music to gift cards.  That's the one that caught my eye...

Coupon Binders and Pages at Amazon!

If you are having issues finding binders and pages for your couponing obsession, you are in luck!  Amazon has some great deals on both of those things!  Take a look:

The classic Case-It, used by Extreme Couponers everywhere!

Yes, you CAN Extreme Coupon in New England!

I have noticed in my blog stats that my old post "Can You Extreme Coupon in Vermont / New Hampshire / New England" gets the most hits out of any other page here.  I guess people don't believe that you can do that kind of thing here in the North East US!  LOL  Well, I'm here again to assure you that you can.  Now, that said, will you start getting groceries for your entire house for $10 tomorrow?  No.  Can you save hundreds if not thousands of dollars over what you are spending now?  Yes.

Basically you have to retrain yourself on how you shop.  You shop the deals along with your necessities, build a stockpile of things that you and/or your family uses when they are super cheap or free so you don't have to ever buy them at full price.  Before you know it, you have a good stock of the necessities built up and you don't have to buy the same things week after week.  For example, laundry detergent.  We all need it and use it, right?  So last time I found a free deal on laundry detergent, I got 20 of them.  It is now over a year later and I haven't had to buy laundry detergent once, and I still have a few left so I am starting to search for another free or cheap deal to replenish my stock.  Make sense?

Couponing FAQ Part 1 - Avoiding the 5 top "Newbie" Couponing Pitfalls

It was March of 2010 when I first saw MrCoupon (Nathan) from WeUseCoupons.com on a Nightline special talking about this "Extreme Couponing" business.  I watched that segment 5 or 6 times trying to catch the website address spelled out in Jell-O boxes in the driveway.  LOL  Once I finally had it, I was off!  I lurked and read at WeUseCoupons.com for a month before I finally jumped in and joined the site (it's FREE, by the way... my favorite price!  hehe), there was soooo much information there, I was like a kid in a candy store, reading and absorbing all that I could.  The wealth of information that folks share out of the kindness of their hearts is simply astounding.  So here I am a little over a year later, saving tons of money (LOL) and now sharing the information I have learned for couponing in Vermont and New England both as a Forum Leader at WeUseCoupons.com, and my own Blog, VTCouponer.

In my couponing travels, I not only fell into many of the Newbie Couponing Pitfalls myself, I read about them all the time on the forums.  Here are all the things I have experienced / read about that are very common among new couponers and how to avoid them:

Can you Extreme Coupon in Vermont / New Hampshire / New England?

I have been seeing this question alot lately, and seeing it pop up in my blog reports as one of the popular searches over and over again.  I'm here to tell you YES, you can Extreme Coupon in Vermont / New Hampshire / New England, it is possible, for sure!  Here's a reply I just did to a question over at WeUseCoupons.com :

Q - My question is "can you make money off items to pay for other items in your cart?

Example: Say I buy a travel size suave deodorant for .50 and use a 1.00 mc that doesn't state size, can that .50 go towards other groceries at PC? I thought I saw in their policy that a coupon could not exceed the price of item. Makes it hard to be an extreme couponer!!!
