Well, it's been a dog's age since I posted a trip... :) Here's this past Sunday's rundown for Price Chopper. I did the Pepsi deal with the Bonus Coupon plus a $2/4 mani q from GU, the BOGO boneless ribs with the $1 off Hannaford coupon, the celery with the FB coupon, the Hellmann's deal (of course, we all know what a Hellmann's fiend I am LOL) with a $1/3, the PC pretzels with the FB coupon, the Knorr sides with two of the $1/3 with my doublers, the Kellogg's cereal with the free Minute Maid with two $1/2, the Eggland's Best eggs with the $.50/1 (got two since they ended up only $.99 ea! I was worried I would get the $.35/1 in my inserts), 1/2 lb of the hard salami on sale this week and used the $2 off from Hannaford, and hubby has been bugging me for some cheese and crackers to go with the pepperoni in the freezer from the last BOGO deal, so I did the Ritz/Cracker Barrel FB coupon too. Then I used the $3 off $40 or more from Hannaford. Final tally was this:
Total before AdvantEdge and Coupons: $138.71
Total items: 38
AdvantEdge savings: $40.28
Coupon Savings: $31.68
Total Savings: $71.96
Bag credit - $0.15
Final OOP: $66.60
I did grab quite a few other things, only one item I bought didn't have a coupon. LOL Onions. Oh no, TWO items. I noticed they had the RubyKist apple juice for $1 again at my store, so I grabbed one on my way to the register. Love it when I save more than I spend! :-D
Just my little corner of the internet with tips and hints for couponing and frugal living. I have free printable coupons, weekly sales flyers, coupon matchups for local stores, and lots of great info on couponing to save money in Vermont, New Hampshire and New England!

My Shopping Trip 12/26/2010
My day after Christmas venture in for groceries... oh my. Only went two places this week, Walmart and Price Chopper. Here's the rundown of each:
Walmart:
Metamucil Apple Crisp cookies - $4.72
used $1/1
total - $3.72
Metamucil original - $7.92
used $2/1

Beaudreax Butt Paste - $4.88
used $2/1
total - $2.88
Huggies Pull Ups - $8.97
used $1/1

Also got instant oatmeal, big jug of apple juice, new All You magazine, and regular diapers. Total OOP was $40.79. High, but had to get the Metamucil for poor DD, been having the potty-training constipation blues with her for a while. :(
Price Chopper:
Went to a young kid checker here on this trip and wow, we was out in the ozone somewhere. He stared somewhere over my shoulder the whole time and TOTALLY forgot to deduct my coupons. How frustrating. I had to go to customer service to get reimbursed for the coupons. It all was fine in the end, but what a hassle.
Dole salad blends - BO@ $3.99 GO Free
PC tall kitchen trash bags - BO@ $2.59 GO Free
Country Crock spread - $2.69
used $.50/1 doubled

Total items - 40
AdvantEdge savings - $10.25
Coupon savings - $19.25
Total savings - $29.50
Total OOP - $67.70
Meh, at first I wasn't too impressed with this trip, but now that I'm looking it over again, I didn't do too bad all in total. I think it jsut gave me a bad feeling to have that full $87 deducted from my account, they did honor and credit the coupons after, but that gave me a uneasy feeling right from the get go.

WOOT! My savings is higher than what I actually spent! Too funny! I was again the coupon fairy here, as well as spreading cheer to one of my favorite employees there. I was standing in the frozen aisle when two women came by price cheking and comparing chicken nuggets for their kids, and one said to go look in the meat case for the Price Chopper brand ones on the trays. I piped up and said that the Tyson Anytizer chicken dippers were really good, that my DD loves them, and I had coupons for them if it would help. So we chatted for a while, I explained a bit about couponing, and I gave them two coupons for the chicken, a couple others for items in their cart, and the website address for weusecoupons.com! LOL They were very thankful for all my help and were amazed at how far off their perceptions of couponing were. Then I trotted off to finish my shopping. In the dairy aisle I finally saw the employee I had been searching for. This lovely woman that I see just about every Saturday that is so nice, kind, helpful, and is ALWAYS smiling and talking to people, she really stood out as an outstanding employee. So as she buzzed by to put something away, we exchanged hellos as usual, then I told her I had something for her. Grabbed my coupon bag and dug out that star thing from the center of the Price Chopper magazines for customers to give to employees that make their shopping experience wonderful, and gave it to her and thanked her for being such a sweet and helpful person. She gave me a big hug and wished me happy holidays. I left there feeling so good! :D

That's it for this week, won't be shopping next Saturday, it being Christmas and all... ;) Unless I see some amazing deals I can't pass up in this weeks flyer and I have to buzz over during the week this week, I won't be shopping again until Sunday after Christmas. Happy Holidays everyone!

My Shopping Trip 12/4/10
Wow the stores were busy! It was nuts out there. I went quite a few places today, and it took me forever! I decided to check out the two dollar stores in town, it was interesting. I hit Dollar General, the discount foods store, Walmart, Dollar Tree, Price Chopper and Grand Union. Whew! I'm tired all over again just reading that list! LOL Here's the rundown of each:
Dollar General:
Got us a little Christmas tree for $5! hehe

Franks Red Hot sauce - $1 X2
used $1/2
total - $.50 ea
Raisins 8 pk - $1.35
Notebook for me - $1.25
Canned veggies - $.50 X6
Total OOP here was $18.34. I thought the canned veggies were a pretty good deal as PC and GU store brand are usually $.67 to $.69. Also loved the deal on the Frank's, hubby has been wanting some, and it was a good price. :)

Goya rice mix - $.69 X2

Walmart:

Meh. I mean I got good deals on stuff and all, but I still wasn't thrilled with the final OOP. Not to mention that I actually had two sets of three tripler coupons and I just couldn't go back in there again to use the second set. :( Kinda bummed, but I sat in the car for a while trying to think what else to really get that we needed and I couldn't come up with a thing! So I left. LOL

That's all she wrote! It was a loooong day. I got a late start to begin with, then the stores were an absolute zoo... made for a very un-relaxing shopping trip. LOL

My Shopping Trip 11/13/10
Another budget shopping trip this week. The total budget for food this week was $50, and for once I came in under! LOL Hit two places, the Discount Foods store and Price Chopper. Here's the deals and steals at both:

Not bad if I do say so myself! :) A whole week of dinners for under $40! Granted I have pork chops left over from last week's $1/lb sale, and a beef smoked sausage that we will be using this week for dinners, so that helped. And ANOTHER week I'm really looking forward to all our meals. Soup and grilled cheese, pork chops withe rice and a veg, red beans and rice with sausage and eggs (and homemade tortillas!!), bean soup with rice and more tortillas (I LOVE the tortillas, can you tell? LOL), egg salad sandwiches, fried chicken with mashed taters and a veg, and gallo pinto. YUMMY!!!

My Shopping Trip 10/16/10
This is a little late, been ANOTHER one of "those" weeks this week. I seem to be having alot of them lately! LOL Hit 3 places this week, Walmart, Price Chopper and Grand Union. Here's the deals and quick rundown of each:
Walmart:
Had to stop here for diapers for DD, so figured I'd get a few freebies and cheapies while there!
Gain dish soap - $.97 X3
used $1/1 X3
total - FREE plus $.09 overage
Tic Tacs - $.96 X2
used $1/1 X2
total - FREE plus $.08 overage
Mentos gum - $1.28 X3
used $1/1 X3
total - $.28 ea
Like I said, got diapers for DD, and a couple pasta bowls for lunches for her, total OOP was $18.73. Not bad for all that.
Price Chopper:
Not a "great" trip here this week, unfortunately. My really good deals here are as follows, but not going to list all the coupon items this time:
Ben & Jerry's single serve cups - $1 X12
used $1/4 X3
total - $.50 ea
YoCrunch yogurt parfait - $1
used FREE catalina
total - FREE
Johnson's baby shampoo & wash - 2/$5
used $1/1 X2
total - $.50 ea
That's about it for really good deals, here's the final total and savings:
Total Price Chopper trip before AdvantEdge and Coupons - $117.20
Total items - 35
AdvantEdge savings - $24.20
Coupon savings - $16.00
Total savings - $40.20
Total OOP - $77.00
Grand Union:
Meh, going to not break this one down as there were no really amazing deals here. I got two apple juice, corn dogs that were on sale and I had 2 coupons for (no doubling though, that didn't make me happy), Apple & Eve Fruitables juice box 8 packs that I had a $1/2 coupon for (this one was doubled), so final OOP was $13.00 for all that though, so it was ok.
That's it for last week's trips... on to this week's posts... and I'm behind on that too! LOL

My Shopping Trip 10/2/10
Trip this week was a whirlwind trip at the crack of dawn! LOL We had plans to go to a family cider press on Saturday and the only way I was going to get shopping done was to go as soon as I got up at 5:30 AM, or do it when we got home that night. Needless to say, I knew I would be waaaay too pooped after a long day pressing cider outside, so I went as soon as I got up. LOL Since Grand Union doesn't open until 7, I only hit Price Chopper (24 hour store for me here), and Walmart (opened at 7 AM), yesterday then raced home to get the family ready to head out. I'm only listing the PC trip this week as Walmart was just diapers, wipes, bottle liners and Goldfish crackers, no coupons or deals. Here's the Price Chopper run down:
Captain Crunch cereal - BO @ $4.19 GO Free
used $1/2 doubled - minus $2
total - $1.10 ea
PF Chang's dinners for two - $7.99 X2
used $2/1 X2 - minus $4
total - $5.99 ea
Carolina rice - $2.89
used $.50/1 doubled - minus $1
total - $1.89
PC steambag veggies - $1 X5
PC apple juice - $1.88 X3
CM Mandarin oranges - $1.09 X2
used $5/10 PC or CM products - minus $5
total - $.78 ea
Danimals Crush Cup yogurt - $2 X3
used $1/1 X3 doubled - minus $6
total - FREE

total - $.50 ea

used $1/1 doubled - minus $2
total - $2 ea
Kraft salad dressing - $2 X4

Total items - 55
AdvantEdge savings - $37.50
Coupon savings - $37.00
Total savings - $74.50
Total OOP - $114.24
Final OOP was higher than usual, but I also didn't split it between 2 stores this week. There were some better deals on things we needed at Grand Union this week, but since I skipped them due to not having enough time, I think it all comes out in the wash. Also got a few items that I usually don't get at PC, like beer and dog food, and I also got the chicken drumsticks deal for $1.39/lb and the ground beef deal for $1.99/lb, so there was more meat this trip as well. But we'll get at least two meals out of the chicken, and SIX meals out of the hamburg. It all comes out in the wash! :)
AND my wonderful aunt and uncle that hosted the cider press we went to have an AMAZING garden at their house that they are trying to clean out before frost hits and destroys everything, so we left there with not only 2 big jugs of fresh cider, but a big bag of winter squash, tomatoes, jalepenos, serranos, cukes, celery... all for free! We had a truly wonderful time visiting with family, great potluck meal with all kinds of delicious offerings, and incredible smoked ribs and beef brisket from my uncle. It was an out of this world, perfect fall day in Vermont! :D

My Shopping Trip 9/25/10
I know this is horribly late, but it's been another hell week this week and I am soooooo behind! I only hit 3 places this week, Walmart, Price Chopper and Grand Union, and I'm only going to post the final OOP this week as I still haven't even done my matchups for the week. Ugh! Ok, so here's the rundown (abbreviated version):
Walmart:
Only got diapers, dog food and more FREE razors here. Used 3 of the $2/1 Schick razors coupons and got the overage. Final OOP was $19.26 for everything.
Price Chopper:
Did ok this week at PC, got alot more meat and fresh produce than usual, but had coupons for pretty much everything else, so all in all not too bad.
Total Price Chopper trip before AdvantEdge and Coupons - $115.62
Total items - 32
AdvantEdge savings - $26.99
Coupon savings - $32.20
Total savings - $59.19
Total OOP - $56.43
My big score here was the store coupon for boneless skinless chicken at $1.69 a pound, and I also had another coupon that gave me another $2 off for buying two Hellmann's mayo, so I ended up getting an almost 4 pound package of chicken for $4.50. :)
Grand Union:
Nothing really major here this week, used a few expiring coupons I had set aside, and I got yogurt and sour cream for free. Total OOP was $42.86. And again, keeping in mind that $16 was beer for hubby, not bad.
Sorry so brief, but I HAVE to get my matchups posted tonight and I HAVE to give DD a bath tonight too. Just not enough hours in the day... :)
